A landslide triggered by heavy rains has severed a crucial section of the Kabarnet-Eldama Ravine road, causing significant disruptions to traffic flow in the region.
The incident occurred early Monday morning, leaving motorists stranded and facing long detours.
Police have advised motorists to use alternative routes and to exercise caution following the heavy rainfall in Kabarnet. “
Those travelling from Eldama Ravine through Saos road are asked to be careful and, if possible, divert to use Marigat highway,” a police spokesperson said.
The landslide has created several cracks on the road, raising fears that the entire section could be cut off if the situation worsens.
Authorities are closely monitoring the area and coordinating efforts to address the disruptions and ensure the safety of road users.
