Nuru Okanga, a popular Kenyan social media influencer and political activist, recently made headlines after being gifted Ksh 1.3 million by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi to start his own business.
This gesture followed Sudi’s promise to uplift Okanga’s life, which had been characterized by difficult living conditions.
Okanga, known for his loyalty to the ODM party, expressed his desire to invest in a posho mill, a car wash, and other ventures in his rural home, in addition to opening a salon for his wife.

The funds provided by Sudi are expected to help Okanga establish himself in business, with Sudi advising him to focus on growing one enterprise before expanding into others.
The MP also promised to help Okanga secure a three-bedroom house in Nairobi through the government’s Affordable Housing Program.
Okanga’s journey into business is seen as a significant shift from his earlier role as a political commentator.
His story gained public attention not just for his business aspirations but also due to his public struggles, including seeking financial assistance for his son’s kidney treatment.
