A dramatic scene unfolded when a thief, attempting to steal from a power line, found himself trapped on top of Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) high-voltage cables.
Eyewitnesses watched in shock as the man clung to the live wires, unable to climb down. Apparently, the thief had scaled the poles under the cover of darkness, hoping to make away with copper cables, but things took a dangerous turn when he got stuck.
Passersby quickly gathered, some taking videos while others shouted at the man to climb down before he electrocuted himself. His fear of electrocution kept him frozen on the spot, turning the situation into an intense standoff.
KPLC officials were eventually called to the scene, and they had to cut off power in the area to prevent any potential accident.
The incident caused a significant power outage, disrupting businesses and households in the area. Authorities arrived to bring the thief down and swiftly arrested him after the nerve-wracking ordeal.
Many residents expressed frustration, noting that such acts of vandalism not only put lives at risk but also cause inconvenience and damage to public infrastructure.
