KPLC Announces Areas to Experience Thursday Power Outages

Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced planned power outages scheduled for Thursday, December 19, 2024. The blackouts are part of routine maintenance aimed at improving the reliability of the power network.

In a statement, KPLC said, “The following areas will experience power interruptions tomorrow during planned maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

Nairobi Region

Parts of Nairobi West Sub-County

Dagoretti (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM):
Ndunyu Market, Feed the Children, Quickmart Waithaka, Mutuini Hospital, Kirigu Primary School, Orthodox Church Pathenios, and surrounding areas.

St. Joseph Kabete (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM):
AHITI, Uthiru Muthua Dispensary, Pork Centre, Mugi Road, Muhuri Road, Kabete ACK, Q Bash Lounge, Markim Apartments, Uthiru Cooperation, and nearby locations.

North Rift Region

Kimogoch and Kabisaga (8:15 AM – 5:00 PM):

Murto, Kimogoch, Kabisaga, Chepkoyot, Kibulwet, and neighboring areas.

Kosirai, Kipsimoo, and Kalya (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM):

Kosirai, Mbelekenya, Kipsimoo, Kalya, Mosoriot, and surrounding areas.

South Nyanza Region

Uriri (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM):

Uriri, Kamsaki, Koigo, Bware, Kisangura, Kolwal, Kakrao, God Jope, Oyani, Ugari, Warisia, Stellah, Magongo, Rayudhi, Nyasare, Chamkombe, Pinnacle Plaza, Kimadui, and nearby areas.

Parts of Kisii County

Igonga (9:30 AM – 4:30 PM):

Igonga Market, Gesero, Bogitaa, Kirwanda, Water Park Hotel, Nyagwekoa, and adjacent locations.

North Eastern Region

Kinoo and Muthiga (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM):

Kinoo Market, parts of Kinoo 87, sections of Muthiga, Gaitumbi, Baraniki, and surrounding areas.

Thindigua, Starehe, and Mushroom (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM):

Kirima, Thindigua GG, Kiambu High School, Kirima Tent, Muthithi, Lomoro, Starehe, Fairview, Windsor, Ngomongo, Consolota, Njathaini Road, Edenville, Mushroom, Naivas, Quickmart, Green Zone, St. Mary, Tsavo, parts of Thindigua Town, and nearby areas.

Murera Sisal and Juja Farm (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM):

Murera Sisal, Matangi-Ni, Hamundia, Theta, PCEA Matangi, Magomano, Ndarasha, Ndururumo, Ruiriro, Pherie, Corner Brook, St. Dominic, Space & Style, Juja South Estate, Selecta/KPP Production, Mastores, Abba Salama, Juja Farm Shopping Centre, Juja Farm Police Station, Gikumari Shopping Centre, Air Harries, Kwa Mzungu, Kwa Wamuini, Kwa Wamumbi, Juja Farm Zone P, Mwireri Shopping Centre, Kwa Murage Shopping Centre, Kwa Ruhi, Athi Shopping Centre, and PCEA Tumaini.

Residents in the listed areas are encouraged to plan accordingly.
