The community, plagued by persistent livestock theft, took the law into their own hands, resulting in his death.
Similarly, in Nigeria, a 25-year-old man identified as Monday narrowly escaped lynching after being caught with two live goats allegedly stolen in Obio Ndot, Oruk Anam Local Government Area.
In Uganda, a 26-year-old man in Namayingo district was lynched by angry residents of Lubira village in Banda sub-county for allegedly stealing two goat.
In Zambia, two male suspects accused of livestock theft were killed by a mob in Shibuyunji District, Central Province.
These incidents highlight the prevalence of mob justice in response to alleged thefts, often leading to fatal consequences.
Authorities have consistently warned against such actions, emphasizing the importance of allowing the legal system to address criminal activities to prevent unlawful killings and ensure justice is appropriately served.
