Abducted social media influencer and cartoonist Kibet Bull has finally been released, as confirmed through his social media account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In posts shared on the platform, Kibet revealed that he was freed in the early hours of the morning and dropped off in Luanda, Vihiga County.
His abductors allegedly left him stranded without any fare to travel home at around 3 to 4 a.m.
Struggling to figure out where to go at that odd hour, he decided to attend a local “disco matanga,” a funeral dance event, where he stayed until morning. At around 6 a.m., he managed to book a ticket home and confirmed that he was now safe.
“They dropped me in Luanda, Vihiga at 3-4 a.m. Leo. Sikuwa najua where to enter or book a room. Kidogo form ya Disco Matanga came in, danced mpaka 6 a.m. when I went to book a ticket,” Kibet shared on X.
However, it has not yet been fully verified whether he is the one managing the account posting these updates.
But since other abductees who were taken around the same time as him have been released, it is believed that Kibet Bull has also been freed.
This development comes shortly after National Police Service (NPS) Spokesperson Resila Onyango confirmed that four individuals, including Billy Mwangi and Peter Muteti, who mysteriously disappeared in December 2023, had been found alive.
According to Onyango, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has already started investigating cases of missing persons, with several cases still pending in court.
She also urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement by providing any helpful information that could assist in ongoing investigations or help trace others who are still missing.
The NPS further confirmed that Billy Mwangi, Peter Muteti, and Rony Kiplagat, whose disappearances had been reported at Embu, Kabete, and Thogoto Police Stations respectively, have already been reunited with their families.
