Elvis Murakana, the son of Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Beatrice Elachi, has passed away.

Murakana tragically lost his life on Tuesday, March 25, after reportedly suffering severe injuries in a devastating road accident.

He had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he was receiving medical attention before eventually succumbing to his injuries.

News of his passing has deeply saddened many leaders across the country, with President William Ruto among those who sent messages of condolence to the grieving family.

In his heartfelt message on Tuesday evening, Ruto offered words of comfort, quoting a Bible verse to provide strength during this difficult time.

“May God grant Mheshimiwa Beatrice Elachi and her family the strength to cope with the heartbreaking loss of their dear son, Elvis Murakana.

Be comforted by the word of the Lord in Psalm 147:3: ‘He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds,’” the President stated.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, under which Elachi was elected as Dagoretti North MP, also expressed its sympathies.

The party acknowledged the immense pain that comes with losing a child and assured Elachi of their support as she mourns her beloved son.

“May God grant Hon. Beatrice Elachi (MP, Dagoretti North) and her family the strength and resilience to endure the painful loss of her son, Elvis Murakana Namenya.

This is a great tragedy for Mheshimiwa. As a party, we stand with her during this moment of sorrow and grief,” ODM stated in an official message.

Among other leaders who joined in mourning Murakana was Busia County Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo, who extended her condolences on behalf of her family and the people of Busia.

“My heart goes out to Hon. Beatrice Elachi and her entire family following the heartbreaking loss of their son.

On behalf of my family and the people of Busia County, I send my deepest condolences. Pole sana,” Omanyo expressed.

Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai also shared his sympathy, acknowledging the deep pain that comes with losing a child.

“It is with great sadness that I extend my deepest condolences to Hon. Beatrice Elachi and her family following the tragic loss of their son, Elvis Murakana,” Alai stated.

“As the MCA for Kileleshwa Ward, I stand with the people of Dagoretti North and beyond in mourning this profound loss.

Losing a child is an unimaginable pain, and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time,” he added.

Elachi’s loss has touched the hearts of many, with fellow leaders, colleagues, and supporters standing by her side as she grieves the tragic passing of her son.
