Uhuru Kenyatta Issues 21-Day Notice to Jubilee Party Members Ahead of Major Meeting
Jubilee Party leader and former President Uhuru Kenyatta has released an urgent 21-day notice to all party members, informing them about a National Delegates Conference (NDC) that is scheduled to take place at the end of this month.
In an official statement dated August 5, Uhuru shared that the upcoming conference will address three major issues. These include receiving a status report from the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), reviewing and setting new party policies, and discussing other important matters that affect the future of the party.
“Following Article 8.1 and 10.1 of the Jubilee Party Constitution, a 21-day notice is hereby given for a Special National Delegates Convention to be held at the Jockey Club, Nairobi, Kenya,” the statement read in part.
This urgent announcement came just a few hours after Uhuru chaired a high-level NEC meeting—his first since a lengthy series of legal disputes that had thrown the party’s leadership and direction into uncertainty.
During the NEC meeting, discussions focused on evaluating the current state of the party, measuring progress on projects that are already underway, and laying out strategic plans to rebuild and strengthen the party’s foundation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
According to a statement released by the party after the meeting, “The NEC deliberated on key matters affecting the Jubilee Party, including a detailed review of party operations, the progress of ongoing initiatives, and the development of strategies to strengthen the party’s structure and improve internal organization.”
Pauline Njoroge, the party’s Deputy Secretary General, confirmed that the NEC meeting took place and emphasized its importance. She described the session as a major moment for Jubilee, noting that it sets the tone for the party’s revival.
“This was a very important meeting that marks a new chapter in reaffirming the party’s principles, charting its strategic future, and enhancing internal unity,” Njoroge explained.
Uhuru Kenyatta has only recently reestablished his authority over the Jubilee Party after a long and intense legal battle.
In 2023, a rival faction led by Kanini Kega and Sabina Chege tried to remove him from leadership and expel his loyal allies, including Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni and Vice Chair David Murathe.
However, after a decisive High Court ruling in September 2024 and a government gazette notice published in June 2025, Uhuru and his team were officially reinstated.
These rulings confirmed that Uhuru remains the legitimate leader of the Jubilee Party, along with his key officials.
With this renewed leadership confirmed, the upcoming NDC is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the party’s direction moving forward.
