Three Auction Companies Announce Sale of Vehicles and Motorcycles
Three well-known auctioneer companies—Janice Investment, Petfriend Auctioneers, and Braifus Auctioneers—have announced several upcoming public auctions involving various motor vehicles and motorcycles.
These auctions will be taking place in different locations, including Nairobi, Taita Taveta, and Naivasha.
According to a gazette notice published on May 2, 2025, the auctions will feature a range of vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, and trucks.
Most of these vehicles have either been abandoned, uncollected, or have accumulated significant storage fees while being held at different premises. The main aim of the auctions is to clear out these unclaimed assets and make them available to interested members of the public.
Vehicle owners who still wish to reclaim their property are required to settle all pending storage charges along with any related incidental expenses.
This must be done before the auction dates specified in the notices. The companies have urged potential buyers to carefully go through the gazette notice for detailed information on the auction schedules, locations, and terms of sale.
In one particular notice, a warning was issued under Section 6 and 7 of the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap 38) of the Laws of Kenya. It specifically mentions a motor vehicle—registration number KAG 028Z, a Land Rover 110 Station Wagon—that has been left unclaimed at the premises of Sentrim Auto Sales Limited, located at P.O. Box 45944-00100, Nairobi.
The notice emphasized that if the vehicle is not claimed within 30 days from the date of publication and all related charges are not cleared—including the cost of storage and the gazette notice—Sentrim Auto Sales Limited will proceed to dispose of the vehicle.
Petfriend Auctioneers also announced the upcoming disposal of various items, including motorcycles, vehicles, scrap metals, and other assorted goods.
These items have remained unclaimed at the Mwatate Police Station. According to their notice, owners have a 14-day window to reclaim their property.
Some of the motorcycle and vehicle brands listed in the auction include Isuzu, Funcargo, Probox, Toyota, Pajero, Haojin, TVS, Tianma, Boxer, Sky Go, Zonshen, Yianmared, and Captain.
The notice further clarified that it is being issued in accordance with the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38), and is backed by the court order issued under Miscellaneous Application Case No. MCCRMISC/E007/2025 from the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Wundanyi. This legal authority allows for the auction of these items if not claimed within the stipulated period.
Meanwhile, Braifus Auctioneers has also declared that it plans to sell a Tata BS6 truck that is currently parked at its storage facility in Naivasha County.
The disposal of the truck will either be through public auction or private treaty, and the sale is expected to take place within 30 days from the date of notice.
According to Braifus Auctioneers, the truck’s owner is required to clear all storage fees and pay for the cost of gazette publication. If the vehicle is not reclaimed in time, it will be sold, and the proceeds will first go towards settling the outstanding charges.
Any remaining amount after expenses will be held for the owner, but if the proceeds are insufficient, the owner will be responsible for covering the balance.
These auctions present an opportunity for the public to purchase impounded or abandoned vehicles and motorcycles at competitive prices, while also helping the auctioneers recover costs incurred from prolonged storage.
