Comedienne Senjee recently opened up about a past relationship where she went to great lengths to please her boyfriend at the time, only to have her trust betrayed. In an intimate conversation with fellow comedian Oga Obinna, Senjee recounted how she cut off her long dreadlocks to gift them to the man she was dating.

According to Senjee, her ex was a DJ and fitness instructor who had always wanted dreadlocks of his own but struggled to grow them due to his hair texture. Out of love and devotion to him, Senjee decided to part with her signature hairstyle, meticulously removing each dread and presenting them to her partner so he could attach them to his hair.
She reminisced fondly about how delighted he seemed to start experimenting with different reggae styles thanks to his new locks. However, it wasn’t long before cracks began appearing in the relationship. Senjee alleged that as her boyfriend grew more popular in his gigs and attracted female attention, he started womanizing and engaging in casual affairs.
The betrayal cut deep for Senjee, who recounted returning home from her sister’s funeral only to discover proof of another woman’s presence in their shared bedroom. Brokenhearted, she confronted her partner but stayed in the deteriorating union until he ended things by insinuating she deserved better.
Looking back, Senjee acknowledged her father had tried to warn her about the signs he saw, but love had blinded her. While the painful experience left scars, she hopes sharing her story empowers others to heed caution when sacrificing their well-being for partners who may not reciprocate fully. It’s a lesson that ultimately strengthened her resolve.
