Kenyan Stars Bask in Bridgerton Glamour at South African World Premiere! A delegation of Kenyan celebrities recently made the trip to Johannesburg, South Africa for a coveted invitation. Netflix was holding live red carpet premieres globally to drum up excitement for the launch of the highly anticipated third season of its mega-hit series Bridgerton.

Among the Kenyan stars in attendance were actress Kate Actress, media personality Jackie Matubia, singer Izareeh, and influencer Idah Alisha. Tanzanian actor Idris Sultan also graciously joined the East African contingent. The stars dressed to the nines as they shared behind-the-scenes glimpses while preparing for the special event on their social media accounts.
The Johannesburg premiere on May 3rd served as one stop on Netflix’s extensive Bridgerton World Tour campaign. Other cities hosting screenings and cast Q&As included Amsterdam, Dublin, London, New York, Rio de Janeiro, and more. By rolling out premieres internationally, Netflix was able to drum up anticipation amongst devoted global fans eager to reconnect with their favorite characters.
For the Kenyan celebrities, this was a rare opportunity to rub elbows with Bridgerton’s major stars. Most excited was Kate Actress, a self-professed super fan of the Regency drama. She radiated joy at the prospect of meeting lead roles Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton in person. As an actress deeply immersed in Bridgerton’s charming adaptation of the book series, it was a meaningful night for her career and fandom.
All in attendance gleamed smiles as they enjoyed a lavish welcome dinner with cast members. Season 3 shifts its romantic focus to Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, played by Coughlan and Newton, exploring the blossoming of their long-standing friendship.
While promoting Bridgerton remains a global affair, Netflix ensured premieres took on a local flavor in each destination. For the Kenyan celebrities, being part of the Johannesburg screening allowed them to bask in the glamour and socialize with stars of the show against the backdrop of a beautiful South African evening. It was a highlight any East African fan might dream of.
