After his recent swearing-in, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki committed to supporting President William Ruto’s vision for Kenya.

In his inaugural speech at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Kindiki expressed deep gratitude to Ruto, describing himself as a long-time “political student” of the president.

He pledged his loyalty and support, stating his intent to work closely with Ruto to navigate the responsibilities of governance and address national challenges.

Kindiki emphasized that he sees this role as a high honor and intends to serve with dedication and faithfulness, promising to lessen Ruto’s burdens where possible​.

Kindiki also highlighted his commitment to continuity, acknowledging the recent impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Kindiki’s swift appointment came after legal challenges were resolved, allowing him to step into the role.

He noted that the process was a testament to Kenya’s democratic maturity and institutional strength, praising those who worked to uphold constitutional values.

Kindiki promised to work with all political leaders and colleagues to deliver on national goals for Kenya’s benefit​.

Reflecting on his career, Kindiki remarked on his readiness for the challenges ahead, acknowledging his new responsibilities as both a privilege and a significant duty.

He credited his extensive experience working with Ruto over the past 20 years as invaluable preparation.

The new deputy president expressed hope for unity and prosperity under Ruto’s administration, setting a tone of cooperation and dedication to public service​.
