In a resounding endorsement of Kenya’s youth, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has hailed Generation Z for their recent series of peaceful protests, commending their steadfast commitment to national unity over tribal affiliations.

Reverend Dr. Samuel Kobia, NCIC’s Chairperson, spoke glowingly of the youth-led demonstrations that have unequivocally asserted a ‘Kenyan first’ identity, a stance aligned closely with the commission’s core values of fostering unity and inclusivity.

“We have observed with great admiration the emergence of Generation Z, who proudly declare themselves tribeless,” Dr. Kobia remarked in a press statement.

“This represents a positive step towards our vision of ‘One People, One Nation, One Destiny,’ emphasizing Kenyan identity above all else.”

Dr. Kobia emphasized the importance of issue-based politics over ethnic divisions, particularly highlighting the upcoming elections as a critical moment for Kenya’s democratic progress.

“We have consistently advocated for elections that prioritize issues that affect all Kenyans, irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds,” he asserted.

The NCIC’s endorsement comes amidst ongoing efforts by the commission to curb divisive rhetoric perpetuated by some political leaders.

Over the years, NCIC has taken a proactive role in fostering national cohesion by summoning leaders who incite tribal animosity during public addresses and events.

“We commend Generation Z for their peaceful demonstrations, which have exemplified responsible civic engagement,” Dr. Kobia added. “Their actions underscore the potential for youth to lead the charge towards a more united and cohesive Kenya.”

The NCIC’s public support for Generation Z marks a significant milestone in Kenya’s societal progress, signaling a generational shift towards inclusivity and harmony.

As the country prepares for future challenges, the commission remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting a nation where diversity is celebrated and unity is paramount.
