A heart-wrenching scene unfolded at the Nairobi City Mortuary as families gathered to identify the remains of their loved ones, discovered among over 10 bodies dumped in a quarry at Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums.
Among those present at the morgue was the family of Josephine Owino, who had been reported missing prior to the macabre find.
In a video posted by a certain media, a family member of Josephine’s collapsed upon recognizing her body, underscoring the profound grief and shock experienced by her loved ones.
The bodies were initially uncovered following a series of dreams experienced by Josephine’s relatives, according to her sister, Peris Andika.
These dreams provided crucial clues that ultimately led the family to the abandoned quarry, now repurposed as a dump site, where multiple bodies were found wrapped in nylon papers and secured with nylon ropes.
The discovery has led to the arrest of Collins Jomaisi Khalisia, identified as the prime suspect in what has become known as the Kware killings. Khalisia, 33, was apprehended in the Soweto area of Kayole as he left a venue after watching a football game in the early hours of the morning.
Following his arrest, Khalisia guided law enforcement to his rented one-room residence in Kware, located approximately 100 meters from the crime scene.
During the search of Khalisia’s residence, police uncovered chilling evidence linked to the killings, including tools believed to have been used in the crimes and personal belongings of some of the victims.
