In a recent reshuffle aimed at enhancing efficiency within the Kenyan government, Treasury Cabinet Secretary (CS) John Mbadi and Lands CS Alice Wahome took decisive actions by dismissing a total of 12 officials from their respective ministries.
John Mbadi, in a Gazette Notice dated September 6, 2024, removed four officials from the Kenya National Entrepreneurs Savings Trust, which is a pension scheme for informal sector workers.
These officials were replaced with new appointees representing various worker associations, with the goal of improving the scheme’s operations and service delivery.

Interestingly, some of the dismissed officials were later reassigned to other government roles, showcasing a reshuffling rather than a complete exit from government service.
Meanwhile, CS Alice Wahome fired eight officials from the Lamu West Land Control Board.
These changes are part of broader efforts to streamline land administration and improve public service.
The newly appointed officials will serve for over two years, signaling a fresh start for land management in the Lamu region.
