Tragedy struck during a wedding ceremony in Maweni, Kilifi County, where police shot and killed a 17-year-old boy.

According to reports, the incident occurred while the young man was attending the celebration with friends.

Eyewitnesses claimed that chaos erupted when a police officer entered the event and opened fire, resulting in the immediate death of the teenager.

The boy’s family expressed their heartbreak and anger, stating that their son had dreams and a future ahead of him that have now been tragically cut short. They are demanding justice and accountability from the police for this unnecessary loss of life.

This incident has raised serious concerns about police conduct and the use of deadly force in civilian settings, particularly during events meant for celebration.

Community members are now calling for investigations into the shooting, hoping to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The atmosphere in Maweni is one of grief and outrage, as families and friends mourn the young boy’s untimely death and demand a thorough inquiry into the actions of law enforcement.
