Laikipia Senator John Kinyua is breathing fire. Amesema yeye ni kiboko ya Maina Njenga na Mungiki wote kwa jumla. Wueh!

Laikipia Senator John Kinyua has recently made strong statements against former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga and the outlawed sect as a whole.

The Mungiki, a banned ethnic organization in Kenya, originated in the late 1980s and is known for its secretive nature and involvement in various criminal activities.

Maina Njenga, who once led the Mungiki sect, publicly renounced his association with the group in 2009 after being baptized by Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.

He declared the sect disbanded and urged its members to denounce their affiliation.

In a 2023 interview, Njenga stated that the Mungiki no longer exists, emphasizing that he “retired with everything” related to the organization.

Despite Njenga’s assertions, concerns about the resurgence of the Mungiki have surfaced. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have both issued warnings against any attempts to revive the sect, vowing to take decisive action against such efforts.

Senator Kinyua’s recent remarks align with these concerns, as he positions himself firmly against any revival of the Mungiki and its former leadership.
