In recent months, political figures have raised concerns about potential election manipulation strategies by the Kenya Kwanza government ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been particularly vocal, alleging that the government is orchestrating plans to rig the upcoming polls.

He points to the deliberate delay in reconstituting the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as a tactic to undermine the electoral process.

Musyoka argues that this delay is intended to disrupt the election process and ensure the government’s unchallenged position.

Additionally, Musyoka has expressed concerns over the government’s refusal to implement the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report, which outlines guidelines for the reconstitution of the IEBC and the selection of its commissioners.

He suggests that the government’s reluctance to adhere to the recommendations of the NADCO report is part of a broader strategy to manipulate the electoral process.

Furthermore, there are allegations that the Kenya Kwanza government is attempting to exclusively select IEBC commissioners, potentially compromising the commission’s independence and impartiality.

This move is viewed by critics as a deliberate effort to control the electoral body and influence the outcome of the 2027 elections.

These developments have sparked widespread concern among political analysts and the public, who fear that such strategies could undermine the integrity of the electoral process and erode public trust in democratic institutions.

The situation remains dynamic, and stakeholders continue to monitor these developments closely.
