An auction company, Onyango and Tarus, has advertised the sale of vehicles through a public auction, as per an announcement in a local newspaper. The sale will be conducted across multiple yards nationwide, with prospective buyers encouraged to visit the designated locations for vehicle inspection before the auction date.
Among the most affordable options is a 2014 Toyota Succeed, available at Ksh149,000 and currently open for viewing at Integra Yard. Other budget-friendly vehicles include a 2000 Nissan Sunny B14 at Ksh215,000 and a 2012 Suzuki Alto listed for Ksh268,000.
For those looking for utility vehicles, the auction features a 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser Hzj79A priced at Ksh1,711,000, a 2010 Isuzu D-Max Tir54 Single Cab going for Ksh411,000, and a 2018 Ashok Leyland 90.16 G&C Turbo available for Ksh2,067,000.
Additionally, individuals looking for personal cars have multiple options, including Toyota, Nissan, and Mazda models. Popular choices include the Toyota Vitz, Toyota Axio, Toyota Hilux Surf, Nissan Caravan, and Nissan Serena.
The auction also features mid-range premium cars, such as a Volkswagen Golf lv 1.6 Auto, which is available at Ksh368,000, a 2014 Toyota Hybrid listed for Ksh880,000, and a 2004 Honda Stream, priced at Ksh300,000.
The auction will be conducted through a private treaty agreement, with the sales expected to be completed by March 11, 2025.
Police Stations Announce Vehicle and Motorcycle Auctions
Soweto Police Station
Soweto Police Station in Nairobi has issued a notice to the owners of 19 motorcycles, warning them that their bikes will be auctioned if they fail to collect them within 30 days. The police station obtained a court order allowing them to dispose of the motorcycles after they remained unclaimed for an extended period.
Obama Police Station
Similarly, Obama Police Station in Nairobi has announced that 11 motorcycles will be put up for auction by March 20, 2025.
Kamukunji Police Station
At Kamukunji Police Station, 17 motorcycles that have been lying idle at the station are already on auction and available for public viewing. In addition to the motorcycles, several vehicles are also set to be sold, including an Isuzu minibus, a Subaru Legacy (body shell), a Toyota Noah, and a Toyota TownAce. The vehicles have remained unclaimed for a long time, prompting the station to auction them off.
