Five police stations, four in Nairobi and one in Mombasa, have announced a massive auction of unclaimed motorcycles, vehicles, and other items worth millions of shillings.

The properties, which have been lying idle at the stations, will be sold to the highest bidders if their owners fail to claim them within the given time frame.

According to a gazette notice issued by auctioneers contracted for the exercise, the auction will include 113 motorcycles, 29 vehicles, and a variety of other goods.

The participating police stations are Jogoo Road, Embakasi, Nairobi Central, Villa, and Kongowea in Mombasa.

Jogoo Road Police Station

Jogoo Road Police Station has warned owners of unclaimed items to retrieve them before they are auctioned off.

This follows an order from the Principal Magistrate’s Court at Makadara under Miscellaneous Application No. E418 of 2025.

The station has listed seven motorcycles, bicycles, a generator, scrap metal, and a trolley among the items up for sale.

If the owners do not claim them in time, Windsor House Auctioneers have been authorized to sell them without further notice.

Embakasi Police Station

Embakasi Police Station is auctioning 69 motorcycles, 22 vehicles, 10 bicycles, three carts, and chassis.

Some of the motorcycle brands available for auction include TVS, Bajaj, Hero, Boxer, Ranger, and Captain. Car models up for bidding feature Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mercedes, and Subaru.

The station has given owners up to 30 days from March 18 to settle any outstanding costs and collect their items.

Nairobi Central Police Station

At Nairobi Central Police Station, 17 motorcycles and three vehicles are up for grabs. The motorcycles include brands like Honda, Captain, Boxer, and Hero, while the vehicles available for bidding include Toyota and BMW models. The notice urges owners to claim their items within the stipulated period or risk losing them to new buyers.

Villa Police Station

Villa Police Station is auctioning 11 motorcycles and four vehicles. The motorcycles listed for sale include Honda, Hero, and Tiger, while the vehicles available for auction include Mitsubishi and Toyota models. Owners have been asked to act fast to avoid losing their property.

Kongowea Police Station (Mombasa)

Kongowea Police Station, based in Mombasa, has also joined the exercise, listing nine motorcycles, one tuk-tuk, and two bicycles for auction.

Motorcycle brands available include Flyboy, Haujin, Boxer, Honda, and TVS. Unlike the other stations, owners of these items only have seven days from March 18 to clear any outstanding fees and reclaim their property before they are sold.

The auction presents a great opportunity for potential buyers to acquire motorcycles and vehicles at affordable prices.

However, owners who still wish to recover their items must act quickly by clearing any necessary fees before the set deadlines.
