Four Companies Set to Auction Unclaimed Vehicles Across Kenya

Four different companies operating in various parts of the country – Nairobi, Mombasa, Kitengela, and along the Meru–Nairobi highway – have announced plans to auction several vehicles that have remained unclaimed.

According to a gazette notice released on April 17, 2025, the companies involved include Green Belt Limited, Topworks Garage Services, Integra Storage Yard, and Garam Investments.

These firms plan to auction more than 18 vehicles if the owners do not claim them within the specified period.

Garam Investments has revealed that it intends to sell a Matatu Toyota Hiace currently located at Delax Motors Limited along the Meru–Nairobi Highway.

The public auction will take place within 30 days from the publication date if the vehicle is not picked up.

Meanwhile, Integra Storage Yard, situated in Kitengela along Muigai Road, is planning to dispose of seven vehicles under similar conditions. These include:

  • Two Isuzu FRR
  • Two Isuzu FVZ
  • One Isuzu NHR
  • One Mitsubishi Fuso
  • One Isuzu NPR

The company issued a statement saying: “This is a NOTICE issued under the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38) of the Laws of Kenya to the owners of the listed vehicles to collect them from our Kitengela yard within 30 days from the date of this publication.”

In Mombasa, Topworks Garage Services also announced that it will auction eight vehicles if they are not collected.

Interestingly, the company noted that the vehicles may be sold within 30 minutes of the deadline if unclaimed. These vehicles include:

  • A trailer
  • Nissan March
  • Toyota Probox
  • Nissan B14
  • Toyota Pixis
  • Nissan Cube
  • Nissan Note
  • Toyota Premio

All the vehicles are currently stored at Topworks Garage Services Limited in Mombasa and may be sold through auction or private treaty.

On the other hand, Green Belt Limited, based in Nairobi, stated that it will auction a Subaru Forester and a Toyota Hiace if they remain uncollected within 30 days.

The company emphasized that the vehicle owners must settle all accrued storage charges, calculated at Ksh 200 per day and Ksh 200 per night, starting from April 10, 2024, in addition to covering the costs of publication of the notice.

This wave of announcements follows a similar one made just a week earlier, where six other companies also declared intentions to dispose of over 39 uncollected vehicles, motorcycles, and other household items.

The firms involved in the previous announcement include Cobbs Auctioneers, Bemac Auctioneers, Racecourse Auctioneers, Nellions Moving and Relocations Limited, and Platinum Auctioneers.

All are located in Nairobi and Kiambu counties and stated that the auctions will proceed via public auction or private treaty following the date of publication.

These notices serve as a warning to vehicle and property owners to promptly retrieve their items to avoid losing them in upcoming auctions.
