A massive fire has broken out in a high-rise building located along Kumasi Road in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD), causing widespread concern among locals and destroying property worth an unknown amount.

According to video footage shared with Newshub.co.ke, the top floor of the building, which stands next to Barkat Biashara Mall and directly opposite the Simba Coach booking office, was completely consumed by flames.

Thick black smoke was seen rising into the air as the fire raged on, drawing the attention of large crowds of onlookers who gathered at a safe distance to watch the dramatic scene unfold.

Emergency fire service teams responded quickly and were captured in the video battling the flames. Their efforts to contain the blaze were ongoing as the cause of the fire had not yet been determined by authorities at the time of reporting.

Although no official information has been released regarding the number of people injured or if there were any casualties, the fire has already caused extensive damage.

Several shops within the building were destroyed, with goods and other valuable items lost in the flames. Business owners in the area now face devastating losses as they assess the aftermath of the inferno.

Authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the fire’s origin, and updates on the extent of the damage and any possible injuries are anticipated as more details emerge.
