The Public Service Commission (PSC) has officially announced 4,000 internship vacancies within the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, and Urban Development. The announcement was made through a notice released on Tuesday, July 22, encouraging qualified and interested candidates to apply.
These internship opportunities cover more than 40 professional fields. Among the key areas open for application are architecture, civil engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, communications and branding, environmental science, occupational health and safety, and interior design.
The PSC has also included openings in digital marketing, data entry, accounting, building inspection, supply chain management, ICT (Information and Communication Technology), economics, actuarial science, and property management.
This wide range of disciplines ensures that graduates from various academic backgrounds have a chance to apply and gain work experience.
To be eligible for the programme, applicants must have graduated from a recognized university in or after 2018. Additionally, candidates must possess basic computer skills and be ready to carry out assigned duties as directed by their respective supervisors.
Once selected, interns will be expected to handle specific responsibilities that align with the goals of the Affordable Housing Programme and other ongoing government marketing projects taking place across different counties.
Interns will also be required to document the skills and experiences they gain throughout their deployment. Furthermore, to promote professional development, interns will participate in mentorship activities and take on extra tasks that help improve their practical knowledge and workplace readiness.
The internship programme is designed to run for a full 12 months. During this period, interns will receive a monthly stipend, with the amount determined by government guidelines.
After successful completion of the programme, each intern will be issued a certificate of participation from the State Department for Housing and Urban Planning—a valuable document to enhance their career prospects.
This internship programme offers a crucial opportunity for fresh graduates to gain hands-on experience and make meaningful contributions to public service initiatives.
