Geoffrey Mosiria Visits Nairobi Man Living in Treehouse Along Jogoo Road

Nairobi County politician Geoffrey Mosiria has expressed concern over the safety and living conditions of a family that has been residing in a temporary structure built on top of a tree along Jogoo Road.

Mosiria revealed that he visited the site on Friday to meet the owner of the unusual home and his wife, with the intention of helping them secure a safer and more dignified housing option. Unfortunately, the family was not around during his visit as they had gone out to hustle for their daily needs.

“Today, I decided to visit the owner of a temporary structure that had been erected on a tree along Jogoo Road, with the intention of offering him and his wife a better housing solution while also protecting the life of the tree. Unfortunately, the family was not at home during my visit, as they had gone out to hustle,” Mosiria said.

He promised to return at a later date to assist the family in relocating to a more affordable and sustainable form of housing. Mosiria also pledged to support them in starting a small business that would help them sustain their livelihood in the long run.

The makeshift treehouse has caught the attention of many Nairobi residents and motorists using Jogoo Road, raising questions about the struggles facing low-income families in the city and the lengths some go to secure shelter.

Mosiria’s intervention highlights the growing housing crisis in Nairobi, where rising rent and lack of affordable housing options continue to push vulnerable families into risky and unconventional living conditions.
