Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has issued a cautionary message to teachers and other education stakeholders as the country prepares for the upcoming national exams starting in October.

Speaking on Sunday, October 5, during the World Teachers’ Day celebrations, Ogamba reminded teachers of their critical role in preserving the credibility of both the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

He urged educators to maintain high ethical standards during this year’s assessments, noting that the government will fully back them in carrying out their responsibilities.

“As always, we count on your cooperation in delivering a smooth, transparent, and trustworthy examination and assessment process,” Ogamba said.

He further emphasized that the results must mirror the genuine efforts and abilities of learners, rather than shortcuts or malpractice.

“Let us stand together to ensure the final outcomes reflect the honest work and dedication of our students,” he added.

Ogamba’s remarks come at a time when the education sector is preparing for one of the biggest national assessment periods in recent years, putting pressure on schools to safeguard exam credibility and avoid any form of irregularity.
