MP Mohamed Tubi Bidu Dies After a Short Illness
Isiolo South Member of Parliament, Mohamed Tubi Bidu, has passed away after a short illness.
The sad news has left many Kenyans in shock, especially his family, friends, and constituents who deeply admired his service and dedication.
According to reports, the legislator died on Wednesday evening while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital. Medical sources confirmed that he had been unwell for a short period before his sudden passing.
Before his untimely death, Hon. Tubi was serving his first term in the National Assembly. He was a member of the Departmental Committee on Environment and also served in the Public Petitions Committee, where he actively participated in addressing public concerns and environmental issues.
Tubi was elected to represent the people of Isiolo South Constituency in the August 2022 General Election on a Jubilee Party ticket.
His victory marked a new chapter in the constituency, as many had high hopes for his leadership and development plans.

Prior to becoming a Member of Parliament, the late lawmaker had an impressive record in county leadership.
He served as the Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly from 2013 to 2017, where he was praised for promoting transparency, inclusivity, and effective debate among county representatives.
While confirming the heartbreaking news, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula described Tubi’s death as a huge loss to both Parliament and the nation.
“As we come to terms with this great loss, let us remember Tubi for his remarkable service and the positive impact he had on our country,” Wetang’ula said in his message of condolence.
He added that Tubi was a humble leader who worked tirelessly for his people. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, constituents, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him,” the Speaker noted.
President William Ruto also joined other leaders in mourning the fallen MP. He described Tubi as a dedicated public servant and a strong advocate for education.
According to the President, the late legislator was passionate about empowering communities through knowledge and opportunities, especially in remote areas of Isiolo County.
“His commitment to transforming the lives of his constituents and advancing development in Isiolo stands as a lasting legacy of his leadership,” Ruto said in his tribute.
The President went on to express his sympathy to the family and residents of Isiolo South, saying, “May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace and comfort his loved ones during this very difficult time.”
Tubi’s passing leaves behind a big gap in leadership for Isiolo South, as he was known for his approachability and concern for the welfare of ordinary citizens.
Many remember him as a leader who always prioritized education, infrastructure, and social welfare programs aimed at improving living conditions in the arid region.
His colleagues in Parliament have described him as a kind, hardworking, and visionary leader who was deeply respected across political divides.
The people of Isiolo South are now mourning a man who had just begun his journey to bring meaningful change to their community.
Plans for his burial and a national tribute are expected to be announced soon as Kenyans continue to send condolences and messages of support to his grieving family.
