Breaking: Khalwale’s Security Withdrawn, Reveals Plot to Arrest Him

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has raised serious concerns after his security detail was withdrawn without any warning. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, November 26, the Senator claimed that there is a wider plot to arrest him ahead of Thursday’s by-elections.

Khalwale said the sudden withdrawal of his bodyguards was linked to his outspoken criticism of certain senior government officials. According to him, the move was intentional and meant to intimidate him, especially during this politically sensitive period.

The Senator further alleged that police officers had organised a plan to pick him up from his home. However, he insisted that such threats would not scare him, saying he had faced similar situations many times before and had learned not to panic.

He explained that if the authorities truly wanted to arrest him, they should simply show up without wasting resources.
“I hear they want to arrest me. Please do not waste your fuel driving around,” he said. “You all know where I live. I will either sleep at my home or, in honour of the late Peter Soita Shitanda, I might spend the night at his hotel.”

Khalwale added that arrest attempts and police confrontations were not new to him.
“I have been arrested, teargassed, and even shot at many times. So if they want me, they can come directly, and I will cooperate as usual,” he stated.

Natembeya Raises Similar Alarm

Khalwale’s claims came shortly after Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya also announced that his security had been withdrawn without any clear reason.

Natembeya, in a statement released on Wednesday morning, said his guards were removed around midnight. The Governor suggested that the move was connected to his recent criticism of President William Ruto’s administration.

He accused the government of failing in its duty to protect all citizens fairly, regardless of political alignment.
“Five years ago, the state withdrew the security of the then Deputy President William Ruto, but the journey continued,” Natembeya said. “Today the same script is repeating itself. Our security has also been taken away. But we shall rise above this.”

Natembeya’s situation comes just days after he campaigned for Seth Panyako, who is eyeing the Malava Constituency parliamentary seat — a move seen as politically sensitive and possibly linked to the security changes.
