Geoffrey Mosiria, the Chief Environment Officer for Nairobi County, was reportedly arrested during the Generation Z Mashujaa Day celebrations at Uhuru Park.

The event, aimed at honoring the country’s heroes, took an unexpected turn when authorities apprehended Mosiria.

His arrest seemed to arise from a situation linked to his role in enforcing environmental regulations.

As an official known for his strict stance on cleanliness and order within Nairobi, Mosiria has been active in operations to restore Nairobi’s image as the “Green City in the Sun” by curbing illegal activities such as dumping and public urination.

During his tenure, Mosiria has been at the forefront of addressing environmental challenges in the city, including impromptu inspections of markets and implementing policies aimed at reducing waste.

His efforts, including the arrest of individuals for urinating in public places, highlight his commitment to improving sanitation across the capital.

However, his bold actions may have stirred some resistance from various groups within the city.

The arrest drew public attention due to his reputation for pushing progressive reforms in the city.

Despite the controversy, Mosiria remains a significant figure in Nairobi’s effort to regain its status as a clean, organized urban center.

His active involvement in the environmental sector has earned him both praise and criticism, but his contributions are seen as critical to Nairobi’s ongoing transformation
