Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has announced that the results for the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations will be released in January 2025.

Speaking at Kabete National Polytechnic’s 5th Graduation Ceremony on December 11, he mentioned that the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) examiners are finalizing the marking process.

He stated, “We should be able to get the results in January. Now we are working on the marking; it is in process.

Once they are ready, we will release them. I won’t be able to give a particular date because the ongoing process is for marking.”

This year, over 960,000 candidates participated in the KCSE examinations, which took place from October 22 to November 22 across 10,755 centers nationwide.

The Ministry of Education reported 621 cases of examination malpractice, including possession of unauthorized materials and mobile phones, as well as collusion with non-candidates to cheat.

In one instance, a man from Nyamira County was arrested for creating a Telegram group named “KCSE 2024 Leakage Group,” where he distributed fake examination papers to over 800 members in exchange for payment.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is actively investigating these cases to uphold the integrity of the examination process.

Additionally, some teachers have been implicated in aiding the circulation of examination papers.

The Ministry is committed to ensuring that all candidates receive their results on time, despite the challenges posed by examination malpractices.
