Desperate Search for Missing Teen: Nairobi Father Appeals to Son’s Friends for Help
Nairobi – The family of 17-year-old Reuben Mbatha has been living in agony for over three months after he mysteriously disappeared.
His father, George Nzivo, is now making an urgent plea to his son’s friends and schoolmates, hoping they can help locate him and bring him home.
How Did Reuben Mbatha Go Missing?
Reuben, a Form Four student at St Joseph’s Boys High School in Kitale, vanished on January 6 while running an errand for his mother in Dandora Phase 5, Nairobi.
He had been sent to deliver KSh 17,000 to a nearby M-Pesa shop but never returned. At the time of his disappearance, he was dressed in black trousers, a Barcelona jersey, and black floaters.
Despite tireless efforts from his family and authorities, there have been no credible leads on his whereabouts.
The unanswered questions surrounding his disappearance continue to torment his loved ones. Did he leave on his own, or did something happen to him on his way to the M-Pesa shop?
With students now home for the Easter holidays, his father believes this is the perfect time to spread awareness and renew the search.
“I want this done now because his schoolmates are home, and they might have crucial information that can help us find him,” Nzivo told Newshub.co.ke.
Could Reuben’s Friends Hold the Key?
Reuben’s father strongly believes that his son’s friends and classmates could play a vital role in helping find him.
Since they share a special connection and understand him in a way that adults may not, they might be able to reach out and convince him to return home if he is safe somewhere.
“When this message reaches them, they will know how to communicate with him in a way that he understands,” Nzivo explained, expressing hope that their influence could persuade his son to come back.
Described as an introverted young man with very few close friends, Reuben’s sudden disappearance has deeply affected his family, especially his twin sister, who has always been his closest confidant.
A Renewed Plea for Public Assistance
The circumstances surrounding Reuben’s disappearance remain a painful mystery for his family. Without any concrete information, they are left in distress, not knowing whether he is safe or in danger.
His father is now extending his appeal beyond Reuben’s classmates. He is urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything about his son to come forward.
“If you have seen Reuben or have any information, please let us know. We just want him home safe,” he pleaded.
The family has been working closely with the police and community members in Dandora, hoping to uncover any leads.
They remain hopeful that someone, somewhere, knows something that could finally bring them the answers they desperately need.
As families come together for Easter, Reuben’s loved ones are holding onto hope that he, too, will return home safely.
Anyone with information is encouraged to report to the nearest police station or contact the family directly.
