President William Ruto has appointed well-known columnist and social media commentator Gabriel Oguda to a newly formed government committee that will be in charge of implementing the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, President Ruto confirmed that Oguda, along with four other individuals, will serve on the five-member committee responsible for overseeing the rollout of the 10-Point Agenda.
This agenda was agreed upon by President Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga during recent political discussions aimed at addressing key national issues.
“Today, 6th August 2025, the Principals announce the formation of a five-member committee tasked with overseeing the implementation of the 10-Point Agenda,” the presidential statement announced.
The committee will be chaired by a former nominated senator, whose name is expected to be formally revealed soon. Other members of the team include Fatuma Ibrahim, youth leader Kevin Kiarie, political analyst and governance expert Javas Bigambo, and Gabriel Oguda.
These individuals have been given the crucial responsibility of turning the political agreements made during the NADCO talks into tangible and meaningful national results.
The committee is expected to carry out wide consultations with various stakeholders and members of the public to ensure that the implementation process is inclusive, transparent, and aligned with the public interest.
In addition to the main committee, the government has also formed a joint secretariat to support the work of the five-member team. This secretariat will be jointly led by Executive Secretaries from both the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
The role of the secretariat will be to provide technical expertise and operational support, helping the committee function smoothly and achieve its objectives effectively.
The appointment of Gabriel Oguda, who is known for his outspoken views and active engagement with the public through his columns and online presence, signals an effort by the government to include a wide range of voices in the national dialogue and implementation process.
