State House Invites Bids for Tents, Meat, Fruits, Fuel, and Other Supply Contracts; Here Is How to Apply
The Executive Office of the President has officially invited qualified Kenyan businesses to apply for a new round of government supply contracts after announcing several tenders for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 financial years.
The newly advertised tenders cover the supply of a wide range of goods and services worth millions of shillings, giving businesses across the country an opportunity to compete for contracts with one of Kenya’s most prominent government institutions.
According to State House Comptroller Katoo Ole Metito, President William Ruto’s office is looking for firms that can reliably provide various products and services under framework agreements.
Among the opportunities available are contracts for outside catering services, audio-visual equipment, sound services, tents and related accessories, meat and meat products, fresh fruits and vegetables, fuels, oils and lubricants, as well as travel and air ticketing services.
The procurement notice, seen by Newshub.co.ke, shows that most of the advertised tenders require interested bidders to provide a bid security of Ksh1 million when submitting their applications.
However, companies seeking to supply fuels, oils, and lubricants will be required to submit a higher bid security of Ksh2 million because of the value and scale of the contract.
Some categories have been reserved to promote government inclusion programmes. Businesses applying for the supply of fruits and vegetables, together with those bidding for travel and air ticketing services, will not be required to submit bid security.
These tenders have been specifically reserved for enterprises owned by youth, women, and persons with disabilities (PWDs), in line with government policies aimed at increasing participation by special interest groups in public procurement.
Eligible firms have until July 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to submit their completed tender documents. Applicants must prepare both the original documents and a copy, clearly indicating the relevant tender number before submitting them.
The completed application documents should be deposited in the official tender box located at Gate D, State House, Nairobi, and addressed to:
The Comptroller of State House
P.O. Box 40530 – 00100
Nairobi
Ole Metito encouraged all interested bidders to download the tender documents free of charge through the official State House procurement portal or the Public Procurement Information Portal before preparing their applications.
He further directed that firms downloading the tender documents online must send their company details to the State House Supply Chain Management office through the official procurement email to facilitate record-keeping and communication during the procurement process.
“Tender documents may be downloaded from president.go.ke and tenders.go.ke free of charge. Bidders who download the tender documents must forward their company particulars to supplychain@president.go.ke,” Ole Metito said.
He also reminded applicants that all completed tender documents must include both the original and duplicate copies, properly marked with the appropriate tender number before being placed in the designated tender box at Gate D.
Metito explained that the contracts will be awarded through framework agreements, a procurement system that enables the government to identify and pre-qualify successful suppliers for a specified period.
Under this arrangement, State House can purchase goods and services from the approved suppliers whenever the need arises without launching a fresh tender process each time.
This procurement method is intended to improve efficiency, reduce delays in purchasing essential goods and services, and ensure continuity in government operations throughout the contract period.
The newly announced tenders are expected to generate significant interest from businesses across Kenya. State House has traditionally attracted a large number of bidders because it regularly requires a steady supply of goods and services throughout the year, making its contracts highly competitive and desirable.
The latest tender announcement also reflects the government’s continued efforts to create more procurement opportunities for local businesses while implementing policies that reserve selected contracts for youth, women, and persons with disabilities.
Through these initiatives, the government aims to promote inclusive economic growth by allowing more Kenyan-owned enterprises to participate in public procurement and benefit from government business opportunities.
