Isaac Otesa, known as the “Bungoma Goliath,” recently opened up about his experience with socialite Manzi wa Kibera, which left him feeling exploited and disappointed.

Otesa was lured from his rural home in Bungoma to Nairobi with promises of fame, including a potential interview with Citizen TV.

However, the reality was far from what he had anticipated. Instead of the exposure he was promised, Otesa found himself forced to participate in content creation activities that made him uncomfortable.

Otesa described how he was pressured into taking part in staged photoshoots and other promotional stunts aimed at boosting social media likes.

At one point, he was asked to pose while carrying a woman, which he found humiliating and against his values.

He also shared how he had to endure awkward living conditions, where he shared a cramped bed with others, leading to further discomfort.

Despite being promised new shoes and clothes, these promises were only partially fulfilled, adding to his frustration.

Feeling used and with his hopes dashed, Otesa eventually decided to leave Nairobi and return to Bungoma.

He expressed his dissatisfaction with the entire experience, which he described as a series of unmet expectations and forced situations.

His story has sparked sympathy among Kenyans, with many expressing disappointment over how he was treated and used for social media clout without receiving any meaningful benefit in return.
