See What MP Peter Salasya Did At A Burial In Mumias!

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya recently sparked controversy during a funeral service in his constituency, where he was filmed assaulting a fellow politician.

The incident occurred while Salasya was addressing mourners at the burial of Jesmus Kodia in Maraba village.

During his speech, Malaha/Isongo MCA Peter Walunya attempted to welcome Salasya to the podium. However, the situation escalated when Salasya, feeling interrupted, slapped Walunya after asking him to sit down

The altercation drew immediate attention, leading to police involvement.

After the incident, police intervened to restore calm and later arrested Salasya, who was released on bail. The police reported that his bodyguards had also discharged firearms into the air during the chaos, prompting concerns about public safety

The violent episode has raised questions about Salasya’s conduct, especially given his previous run-ins with the law, including a physical confrontation at another funeral earlier this year.

This pattern of behavior has led to widespread criticism on social media, with many calling for accountability among public officials.

The incident has highlighted ongoing issues of violence and lack of decorum among some Kenyan politicians, prompting calls for improved security for local leaders.

Many have expressed their dismay over the apparent normalization of violence in political interactions, underscoring a need for serious reflection among voters and leaders alike

The public response to Salasya’s actions reflects broader societal concerns regarding political conduct and safety in Kenya.
