Gachagua Reveals Government Plot to Block His Political Party Launch

Gachagua Claims Government is Trying to Block His Political Party Launch

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that he deliberately delayed launching his political party due to fears that the government would interfere with his plans.

Speaking at a church gathering in Kitengela, Gachagua claimed that certain powerful figures within the government were actively working to prevent the formation of his party.

He explained that while he was initially ready to unveil his new political movement, he had to reconsider his timing to avoid unnecessary roadblocks from his political rivals.

“You keep asking why I have delayed the party launch. I couldn’t just come out and announce it,” Gachagua stated. “I have always said our vehicle is in the showroom, but I was aware that between the showroom and the main road, some people might try to place obstacles in our way.

So I had to make some adjustments. But let me assure you, the vehicle is ready.”

The former DP further disclosed that the national chairman of his new political party would be selected from Kajiado County.

Gachagua Criticizes Ruto Over Bomas of Kenya Deal

In his continued criticism of President William Ruto’s administration, Gachagua accused the head of state of handing over control of the Bomas of Kenya to a Turkish businessman.

“The Turkish national is closely associated with a very powerful individual in this country,” Gachagua claimed. “Ruto has two years to do whatever he wants. Just recently, you all saw who has joined him in government.”

Gachagua also took a swipe at Kenya Kwanza leaders, accusing them of being too afraid to challenge the president on questionable government deals. He argued that many of them were intimidated and chose to remain silent instead of holding the administration accountable.

Gachagua’s Political Future and Plans for a Grand Coalition

Despite several delays in making his big political move, Gachagua had earlier revealed that his party would officially be launched in May 2025.

He kept most details secret but confirmed that the event would take place in Nairobi, allowing his supporters from different parts of the country to attend.

As Kenya’s political landscape continues to shift, Gachagua appears to be aligning himself with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua.

This potential alliance is shaping up as a strong opposition force against Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government ahead of the next general election.

However, Gachagua faces a tough battle, as he will be competing against a coalition that includes the two candidates who collectively secured the majority of votes in the 2022 general election.

With the 2027 elections approaching, all eyes are now on Gachagua’s next political move.
