Residents of Mombasa were left in shock when a TukTuk was seen driving itself along one of the busy streets.

The incident sparked various theories, with some speculating that it could be connected to supernatural activities or rituals.

Given the strong cultural and spiritual beliefs in the region, many were quick to associate the self-driving TukTuk with local rituals or even witchcraft.

Such incidents, where inanimate objects or vehicles appear to operate on their own, are often viewed with suspicion and can stir up fear and fascination in communities.

While there might be practical explanations—such as a mechanical failure or an unusual incident where the driver was somehow ejected from the vehicle—the lack of immediate clarity fuels the speculation.

In the past, similar occurrences have often been linked to local beliefs in the supernatural, where people might believe that spirits or other forces are at play.

The idea of a self-operating vehicle aligns with stories and myths that are part of the cultural fabric in many parts of Kenya, where unexplained events are sometimes attributed to spiritual activities.

As the story of the self-driving TukTuk circulates, it serves as a reminder of the blend of modern life and traditional beliefs that coexist in Mombasa and other parts of Kenya.

Whether the incident has a rational explanation or remains an unsolved mystery, it has certainly captured the imagination of many in the coastal city.
